Itinerary

DAY 1 Arrive at Chennai
When you arrive in Chennai, you will meet our representatives who will welcome you and fill you in on the details of the trip. After that, we will head to Mahabalipuram with a scenic drive. We will get you checked into your hotel for the night, and the rest of the time will be for leisure.
Once breakfast is done, we will head to explore the heritage destinations of Mahabalipuram. It is a coastal town celebrated for its magnificent Pallava-era monuments. Here you will get to see the Five Rathas, stone-carved temples shaped like chariots, followed by the Shore Temple overlooking the Bay of Bengal. You will also visit Arjuna’s Penance, which is a huge rock depicting a scene from Mythology.

After breakfast, we will leave the ancient charm of Mahabalipuram behind and drive towards Pondicherry, a destination known for its distinctive French influence and relaxed coastal character. Upon arrival, you will check into your hotel and have the rest of the day at leisure.

Take this time to unwind, stroll around the neighbourhood, or simply enjoy Pondicherry at your own pace.

The 4th day of our trip will bring a closer look at the spiritual and cultural side of Pondicherry. We will visit Auroville, an international township known for its peaceful atmosphere, and after that, we will visit the Sri Aurobindo Ashram. We will also explore some of the city’s beautiful churches before ending the day at the beach, soaking in the laid-back charm of this coastal town.
We will begin our journey towards Kumbakonam, making a stop at Chidambaram along the way. Here, we will visit the magnificent Nataraja Temple, one of Tamil Nadu’s most revered Shiva temples and an important centre of Shaivite tradition. After exploring its remarkable architecture and spiritual atmosphere, we will continue our drive to Kumbakonam, a town surrounded by centuries-old temples.
Kumbakonam offers a glimpse into Tamil Nadu’s deep-rooted temple heritage. On this day, we will explore the Airavatesvera Temple at Darasuram to admire the intricate stone carvings. This will be your opportunity to experience the grandeur and craftsmanship that make Kumbakonam one of South India’s most fascinating heritage destinations.
Our journey continues towards Chettinad, with a memorable stop in Thanjavur. Here, we will visit the magnificent Brihadeeswara Temple, one of the greatest achievements of Chola architecture and a defining landmark of Tamil Nadu. After exploring this architectural masterpiece, we will continue towards Chettinad, a region renowned for its grand heritage homes, distinctive cuisine, and rich cultural traditions.
After a hearty breakfast, you can explore the surrounding village independently and discover the region’s traditional character, historic homes, and quiet rural landscapes. It is a chance to slow down, observe everyday life, and experience a side of Tamil Nadu that feels deeply connected to its customs and heritage.
We will drive towards Madurai, one of Tamil Nadu’s oldest and most culturally significant cities. Our exploration will take us to the famous Meenakshi Temple, an architectural marvel dedicated to Goddess Meenakshi and Lord Shiva, filled with colourful sculptures and towering gopurams. We will also visit the Thirumalai Nayak Palace, known for its impressive arches, grand halls, and striking Indo-Saracenic architecture.

We leave the temple city behind and make our way into the hills of Kodaikanal. The journey brings a refreshing change of scenery as the landscape gradually transforms into lush mountain surroundings. After checking into your hotel, the rest of the day will be at leisure.

In the evening, you can enjoy a peaceful visit to Kodai Lake and take in the pleasant atmosphere of this popular hill station.

We will discover some of Kodaikanal’s most beautiful natural attractions. We will visit Pillar’s Rock, a striking set of rock formations rising dramatically above the surrounding landscape, followed by Guna Caves, known for their fascinating setting amid the hills. We will also explore Berijam Lake, surrounded by dense forests and peaceful scenery, offering a beautiful escape into nature.
After breakfast, we will descend from the hills and continue towards Tiruchirappalli, a historic city known for its temples and cultural heritage. Our key visit today will be the magnificent Srirangam Temple, one of India’s most important Vaishnavite temples. Its enormous complex, towering gateways, and intricate architecture offer a fascinating glimpse into the spiritual traditions of Tamil Nadu.
Once we are done with breakfast, we will travel towards Kanchipuram with a visit to Tiruvannamalai en route. Here, we will explore the Arunachaleshwara Temple, an important Shiva temple associated with the sacred Arunachala Hill. After that, we will continue our journey to Kanchipuram, one of Tamil Nadu’s historic temple cities.
Before returning to Chennai, we will explore Kanchipuram’s celebrated temple heritage. Our visit will include the Ekambareswarar Temple, one of the city’s most significant Shiva temples and an impressive example of Dravidian architecture. After the visit, we will drive to Chennai and check into our hotel, giving you time to relax after the day’s journey.
Our final day of exploration takes us through Chennai, the vibrant capital of Tamil Nadu. We will visit the historic Kapaleeshwarar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and known for its striking Dravidian architecture and colourful gopuram. The day offers a fitting introduction to Chennai’s spiritual and cultural character as we bring our Tamil Nadu journey to a close.
Your Tamil Nadu journey comes to an end on this day. After breakfast, you will check out from the hotel and proceed to Chennai Airport for your onward journey.
